Property Tax and Rental Rebate Program
General Information
The Council Rock Property Tax and Rental Rebate Program is based upon the existing Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rental Rebate program which has been in effect since 1971 and is funded by state lottery and slot machine proceeds.
Those who qualify for the Council Rock Tax and Rental Rebate Program can apply using the form available at this link or by using the download link below. Copies of the Rebate application are also available in the lobby of the Council Rock School District offices located at The Chancellor Center, 30 N. Chancellor Street, Newtown, PA.
To qualify for this discount, applicants must have a household income of no more than $35,000 annually, and be:

65 years of age or older; or
-
a widow and/or widower aged 50 years of age or older; or
-
permanently disabled and 18 years of age or older
The Council Rock School District is granting a 75 percent rebate based on certain eligibility requirements and income levels as follows:
- 75 percent (maximum $731.25) annual rebate for Council Rock homeowners and renters with a yearly household income between $0 to $8,000;
- 75 percent (maximum $562.50) annual rebate for Council Rock homeowners and renters with a yearly household income between $8,001 to $15,000;
- 75 percent (maximum $337.50) annual rebate for Council Rock homeowners with a yearly household income between $15,001 to $18,000; and
- 75 percent (maximum $281.25) annual rebate for Council Rock homeowners with a yearly household income between $18,001 to $35,000;
- 75 percent (maximum $487.50) annual rebate for Council Rock renters with a yearly household income between $0 to $8,000; and
- 75 percent (maximum $375.00) annual rebate for Council Rock renters with a yearly household income between $8,001 to $15,000.
