General Information & Guidelines:

      • StopFinder is no longer in use.
   2. Student bus information in HAC & Bus Stop Times
      • Pick up & drop off times are best estimates based on static conditions set in route optimization software. 
      • Actual stop time will vary slightly day to day 
      • Buses will not wait at bus stops if they are within 5 minutes of the scheduled time.
        • In many cases, waiting is impossible due to traffic conditions and is unsafe.
      • Students should arrive to their stop 5-10 minutes prior to the time listed in HAC.       
   3. Change Implementation Days are Mondays and Thursdays
      • Updates to routes start on the next available implementation day to allow at least 2 days lead time to ensure communication reaches the driver.
      • Only urgent changes for student safety will be implemented off schedule.
   4. Stop Location Guidelines Policy  
      • Board Policy 810: No “house” stops shall be made except for students whose IEP requires such stops, valid medical reasons, or where the residence is located on a hazardous road as defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. 
      • No buses shall enter non-through streets or cul-de-sacs to pick up students except students with IEP requirements and where approved by the Director of Transportation for the safety of students.
      • Distance to stops is measured from the property line to the intersection. The distance from private roads and dead ends will not be included in this calculation. Transportation will assign bus stop locations that are safe and within 0.5 miles
      • Transportation will be provided from home to school and return. In lieu of the student's residence, transportation will be provided from or to a daycare facility or caregiver as governed by AR No. 810. 
      • All stops for public, private, and parochial schools shall be at the same locations.
